With more than 1,2 million copies sold worldwide and over 100 million streams, “Euphoria” became a favorite in clubs around the globe. “Euphoria is now a song with a life of its own,” Loreen says “and it’s a song I love because it’s become a connecting bridge between me and my fans. Everyone can relate to it in a personal way”. In the same year, Loreen won the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Swedish Act, two Rockbjörnen (Swedish Music Prize) for Best Female Artist and Best Song, and was nominated at the World Music Awards.
Loreen’s acclaimed debut album “Heal” (2012), including hit singles “My Heart Is Refusing Me”, “Crying Out Your Name” and “Heal”, dominated the Swedish charts and peaked into the Top 20 in many European countries. The album was reissued in 2013 including the single “We Got The Power” which also made its way to the charts. 2013 was also the year when Loreen collaborated with Swedish artist Kleerup on “Requiem Solution”, a song they performed together at the 2013 edition of the Swedish Grammy Awards.
With currently over 800,000 fans on Spotify and 300,000 likes on Facebook, Loreen is putting her influence to good use through multiple charity works, as patron of the World’s Children’s Prize, ambassador of the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan or through performing at the Life Ball to promote public awareness of HIV/AIDS. “I hope to inspire other people, in particular the youngsters, to get involved in causes close to their hearts,” Loreen explains, “as I believe music can be a powerful tool to deliver strong, positive messages”.
After nearly three years spent touring all across Europe, Loreen released a new single “Paper Light” in March 2015. Produced with Swedish fellows Taped Rai (featured on David Guetta’s smash single “Just One Last Time”), the song attracted immediate international interest by topping the Billboard Twitter Realtime Chart and reaching over 4 million streams within a few weeks.
On the new single “I’m In It With You” to be released in August 2015, Loreen teamed up with Canadian artist Kiesza (Hideaway), “a great person and an amazing talent” as Loreen puts it. “This song is the result of great collaborations at every stage of the process, from the writing to the mixing, and I hope people will hear it when listening to the song”. Loreen says the song is “an invitation to debate about the changes we see around us and also to remind ourselves what actually matters the most - and everyone can use it the way he or she wants”."We’re born to be higher", as the song goes, and Loreen is now ready to reach new levels.
