Stephen Amell was born on May 8, 1981 in Toronto Canada. He decided to pursue a career in acting when he was in his teens. His first role was that of "spinning instructor" in
Queer as Folk (2000). He also had minor roles in
Degrassi: la nueva generación (2001),
Missing (2003) and
Tilt (2005). He had recurring roles in
Beautiful People (2005) and
Rent-a-Goalie (2006). His first on-screen role was that of a detective in
The Tracey Fragments (2007) which was followed by a small role in
Cerrando el círculo (2007). His first major role in a TV show was that of a werewolf in the CW Hit series,
Crónicas vampíricas (2009). This led to him getting recurring roles in
Hung (Superdotado) (2009),

Heartland (2007). He was then called in to audition for another CW series, but this time in a lead role. He was then cast as the titular superhero, Green Arrow in the new hit series,
