Odeya Rush

Her parents Maia and Shlomo. She has six brothers (including two sets of twins). When she was nine, she moved to Alabama, in the U.S., so that her father could take a job as a security consultant. Two years later, she moved to the NYC area with her family so she could pursue acting. By age twelve, she had booked many commercials, short films and print jobs and then transitioned to film and television.



Within a year, she worked on the hit TV series "Curb Your Enthusiasm"(2011) and "Law and Order: SVU" (2010), and then landed a costarring role in the film La extraña vida de Timothy Green (2012).

In the beginning of 2013, Rush moved to Los Angeles with her family. That year, she costarred opposite Sarah Hyland in the dramedy See You in Valhalla (2014). Then, Odeya landed a female lead role in the Weinstein Company's The Giver (2014), opposite Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep. She will also play the title role in the Biblical film Mary (2015), and co-star with Dylan Minnette and Jack Black in the film adaptation of the book series Goosebumps (2015).

[on her first name] It's an interesting story, actually... I'm Jewish [and] ... it's from the [Old Testament].... They thought of many other names, but they couldn't exactly agree. My dad just opened the book and the first sentence he saw, it was in Hebrew... My name, Odeya, means "Thank God." So that's where they found it.
