It was only a matter of time before Kevin made his screen debut as the vicious gangleader, "Malky Johnson", in Gillies MacKinnon's Vidas enfrentadas (1996). His next role was as the tragic, gentle giant, "Tommy", in Trainspotting (1996).

Tommy, his Trainspotting (1996) character, was the only main character not to be featured in the poster campaign. This was because Kevin went on holiday straight after filming finished, and missed the photo-shoot.
