family of English ancestry. Rosie's paternal grandmother, Gillian
Margaret Franks, was the daughter of Jewish parents, Jacob Franks, a
prominent surgeon, and Janet Lilian Green. Jacob's parents were from the
Netherlands, and he had Sephardi ancestry.
