Eric was originally intended for just the A dos metros bajo tierra (2001) pilot episode (where he's listed in the credits as "Claire's Meth Date"), but Alan Ball liked the chemistry between Balfour and Lauren Ambrose, so he made Gabriel Dimas a regular part of the program.
Was engaged to actress Moon Bloodgood (April 24, 2005). The two parted ways early 2007. After that Eric was in a relationship with Chilean actress Leonor Varela. They met on set of the movie Hell Ride (2008), but recent reports suggests that Eric is single again.
He was cut from the John Travolta movie Be Cool (2005), although at least some of his work appears among the deleted scenes on the DVD.
Appeared with Justina Machado in the series Six Feet Under (2001-2003) and the TV movie No One Would Tell (1996).
Was the lead singer and rapper for the urban/funk band FredAlba, who later changed their name to Born as Ghosts.
